This
is a single overhead cam, 5.4L Triton engine from a 1997 Ford
F150. Notice the heavy sludge accumulation shown in the
picture. People, warm your engine to operating temperature
before leaving the house and CHANGE YOUR OIL ON TIME! This
engine only had 52,000 miles on it. What a waste.
This is a cylinder head removed from a 2000
Chevrolet Malibu after diagnosis of a blown head gasket.
The cause of the head gasket failure is indicated by the
lightning bolt. In a word, Dexcool.
This was GM's first attempt at an environmentally-friendly
antifreeze coolant. The components of Dexcool break down,
forming a blockage in the cooling system. There are
